여행·일상에서 바로 쓰는 필수 영어 구동사 25개 정리

여행 중이든 일상 대화든, 자연스럽게 영어를 쓰고 싶다면 구동사(phrasal verbs)는 꼭 익혀야 합니다. 단어 자체는 쉬워도 의미가 확 달라지기 때문에 문장으로 익히는 게 중요합니다. 아래에 각 표현마다 실제로 쓰기 좋은 예문 3개씩 정리해보았습니다.

 

 

1. Blow up (폭발하다 / 화내다)

  • The car suddenly blew up in the movie.
  • He blew up when he heard the news.
  • Don’t blow up over something so small.

2. Freak out (당황하다 / 흥분하다)

  • I freaked out when I lost my passport.
  • She tends to freak out under pressure.
  • Don’t freak out, we’ll figure it out.

3. Fall for (사랑에 빠지다 / 속다)

  • I fell for her the moment I saw her.
  • He fell for the scam.
  • Don’t fall for that trick again.

4. Make up (화해하다 / 만들어내다)

  • They made up after the argument.

5. Break up (헤어지다)

6. Grow apart (멀어지다)

7. Let down (실망시키다)

8. Stick up for (옹호하다)

9. Back out (약속을 취소하다)

10. Look down on (무시하다)

11. Warm up to (점점 마음을 열다)

16. Put up with (참다)

17. Call off (취소하다)

18. Catch on (이해하다 / 유행하다)

19. Bring up (언급하다 / 키우다)

20. Hold off (미루다)

21. Come across (우연히 발견하다 / 인상 주다)
